Job Summary

Serving as an ambassador for the University, the Associate Director manages a dynamic alumni relations engagement team that oversees activities of in state, out of state and affinity alumni networks. In addition, the Associate Director will develop and execute comprehensive annual plans for engaging alumni to build the University and loyalty of alumni and friends.

Responsibilities
  • Team Management
    • Supervise two full-time staff and a student assistant
    • Manage the Alumni Office budget at Georgia Southern's Armstrong campus in Savannah, GA
  • Volunteer Management
    • Lead the Armstrong and Washington, D.C. alumni networks, enhancing alumni connections with the University
  • Program Management
    • Collaborate with enrollment management, development officers, and annual giving teams to plan and execute alumni programming that increases communication, participation, philanthropy, and engagement with an emphasis on increasing alumni donors
  • Event Planning
    • Assist in planning and coordinating regional and signature events such as Homecoming, Alumni Weekend, 40 Under 40, and Alumni Awards, collaborating with network leaders and stakeholders
    • Encourage alumni participation in key annual events


Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience
  • Three (3) or more years of relevant experience in higher education, event planning, non-profit management, sales, fundraising, project management settings


Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Experience
  • Event Planning Fundraising Non-profit management Demonstrated Proficiency using Raisers Edge or similar fundraising CRM


Proposed Salary

$61,300 - $76,700

This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
