Job Summary:

The Department of Family Medicine (DFM) is a department within the University of Colorado School of Medicine with missions of patient care, medical education, research, and community engagement.

This Grants & Contracts Coordinator in the Department of Family Medicine (DFM) will support research faculty and staff by providing support for the DFM grants team with grant submissions and award management. Additional functions of this position will also include monitoring activities and processing invoices; processing financial activities in CU systems; and performing other duties and tasks as required and/or assigned.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting DFM grants team and PIs to prepare and submit grant applications, ensuring that all sponsor guidelines are met. To include preparing biosketches for key personnel and scheduling meetings to meet submission deadlines.
  • Facilitating the execution of contracts and subcontracts and annual amendments of these contracts.
  • Assisting with the preparation of project-specific budgets, including proper application of F&A costs.
  • Preparation of budgets include clinical trial budgets.
  • Acting as liaison between the UCD Office of Grants and Contracts and the department.
  • Working with PIs to route and submit non-competing continuous submissions of awards.
  • Reviewing notice of grant award with PI making note of any special restrictions and establishing subcontracts with participating institutions.

Work Location:

Remote - this role is eligible to work remotely, but the employee must be in the United States.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, health care management, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.

A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications
  • One (1) or more years of professional experience working in government, non-profit and/or academic administration.
  • Experience working with University software applications including m-Fin, CU Marketplace, and OnCore.
  • Experience in pre- and post-award contracts and grant administration.
  • Experience interpreting and applying policies from multiple levels of authority (federal, state, and institutional) and serving as a resource for others.
  • Experience using integrated accounting, purchasing, and payroll systems.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and present analytical assessments and reports.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $48,071 - $61,146.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
