This non-tenure-track Assistant Professor of Practice position is hosted in the University of Tennessee Chattanooga, College of Health, Education and Professional Studies. The position is currently temporary; however, further extension (after June 30, 2026) of the appointment is possible contingent on funding availability. Preferred starting date is Monday, January 26, 2025.

The Interprofessional Education and Practice (IPEP) Coordinator will be responsible for spearheading initiatives aimed at enhancing grant outcomes for the Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) funded project titled ROADMAP, an acronym for Rural Health and Older ADult Interprofessional Mobile HeAlth Program. The ROAD MAP grant seeks to improve access to health care and raise awareness of healthy aging in ten southeast Tennessee counties. Long-term objectives include lowering caregiver stress, increasing community resource use, reducing emergency room visits, and decreasing social isolation for older adults. The Interprofessional Education and Practice Coordinator is responsible for leading, developing, and implementing interprofessional education programs within the university setting which complement a rural mobile health program focused on the care of community dwelling older adults and their caregivers.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Key responsibilities encompass developing and implementing an interprofessional education curriculum and service- or experiential learning opportunities which meet IPEC competencies and accreditation standards,
  • developing and fostering collaboration with faculty, administrators, students, and community partners for community engagement, education, and research,
  • coordinating the dissemination of scholarly work related to interprofessional education, and
  • leading the development of continuous education programs associated with ROAD MAP grant initiatives.
  • The selected candidate will
  • direct faculty development activities linked with interprofessional education, cultivate collaborative partnerships across the university campus and the community, and
  • aid in managing the logistics, financial oversight, and marketing initiatives related to developing a sustainable mobile health program.

Minimal Qualifications:
  • A master's degree in a health-related field.
  • 2-3 years' experience in higher education, interprofessional education or practice.
  • Commitment to promoting and supporting a diverse administration, faculty, staff, and student population.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Doctorate in a health-related field.
  • 4-5 years' experience in higher education, interprofessional education or practice.
  • Experience in an administrative or leadership position.
  • Experience working with underserved populations.
  • Experience working with older adults in the community.
