The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) Foundation champions philanthropic culture in support of the College of Southern Nevada and community. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the CSN Foundation provides monetary support to the college, its students, and programs. These contributions help create scholarships, develop programs, build infrastructure, and create a campus community where students, faculty and staff can succeed.
The College of Southern Nevada and the CSN Foundation seeks an experienced philanthropy professional with a passion for nonprofit excellence. The Manager of Donor & Alumni Relations reports to the CSN Foundation, Executive Director. As a member of the CSN Foundation Team, the Manager of Donor and Alumni Relations will create, execute, and evaluate all philanthropy strategies with a donor-centered philosophy to ensure a diverse and sustainable revenue portfolio to support the CSN Foundation mission.
Primary responsibilities in coordination with the Executive Director, the Manager will develop strategies and implement tactics that will successfully increase philanthropic support from key constituencies to cultivate giving and retention of stakeholders.
Design and implement strategies to sustain and strengthen fundraising objectives. This role will combine fundraising experience with best practices in philanthropy that will retain existing donors, increase the average gift size, expand the number of donors, and proactively engage CSN Alumni.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is deeply familiar with annual and individual giving best practices and skilled in using data and systems to drive strategic efforts. We seek a high-energy, innovative, results-driven, highly organized development professional with outstanding writing and communication skills. This individual must thrive in a fast-paced environment, be excited to take on new challenges, and be able to work well independently and in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
- Prepare board and committee meeting materials.
- Provide weekly reports to the CSN Foundation Executive Director.
- Strategic thinker and ability to problem solve.
- Recruit and direct volunteers and to work effectively with large community groups, projects, and events.
- Lead and demonstrate techniques associated with developing collaborative and effective partnerships with colleagues, donors, alumni, and community members at local, regional, state, and national levels as required.
- A consummate team player with a flexible, collaborative, and creative approach who can lead from behind and empower teammates to contribute their best.
- Successfully complete projects in a detailed-oriented manner and meet established timelines.
- Commitment to diversity, multiculturalism, and emotional intelligence.
- Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to CSN's mission.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 4 years of related professional experience in fundraising, charitable giving, donor engagement, and stewardship.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 years of years of nonprofit fundraising experience and demonstrated knowledge of annual giving, restricted giving as well as personal interaction with donors, internal and external stakeholders.
- 1 year experience in alumni engagement and solicitation.
- 1 year experience in volunteer management.
- 1 year of grant writing and reporting experience.
The ideal candidate should possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Knowledge of or familiar with NSHE Board of Regents policy and procedures, applicable State and Federal statutes/regulations governing nonprofit organizations, including specific agency grants processes, regulations, and programmatic requirements and ability to research and interpret.
- Knowledge of best practices in nonprofit fundraising, financial reporting, and donor stewardship.
- Knowledge of best practices, philosophies, and processes in fundraising.
- Demonstrated ability and success in fundraising and securing grants for multiple issues and different types of organizational types and needs in the community.
- Oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to write, proofread and edit.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and database management.
- Knowledge of reporting protocols and processes.
- Ability to develop procedures and practices to increase work efficiency.
- Time management skills and the ability to organize and prioritize.
- Organizational and planning skills with demonstrated experience in project with time sensitive deadlines.
- Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to effectively communicate the CSN and CSN Foundation missions with stakeholders in person, by phone and in writing.
- Familiarity and experience working with various social media platforms.
- Proven ability to work well independently, and alongside various teams.
- Demonstrate integrity (honesty, trustworthiness, high moral values).
- Ability to always maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Salary Information:
Administrative Faculty D - The starting salary is $83,120.
