What We Are Looking For

The Alumni Relations Manager supports the mission of Baylor University at George W. Truett Theological Seminary by assisting alumni in pursuing careers in ministry as well as offer opportunities for continued connection to the seminary through regularly scheduled events. This position provides key services to alumni, denominational partners, and church-related institutions seeking counsel in matters related to the employment of ministers. This role will oversee and execute all externally aimed events.

A Bachelor's Degree and three years of relevant work experience are required. A Master's Degree, especially from a seminary, and five years of relevant work experience is preferred.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

What You Will Do
  • Help Alumni Identify Ministry Opportunities
    • Manage Truett alumni database in identifying ministry opportunities and provide support and counsel as they navigate working with congregations and search committees.
  • Large Event Planning
    • Lead and oversee all alumni events in denominational settings including (but not limited to) BGCT, CBF, GMC, Ascent.
    • Work with many different groups within the building to ensure everyone stays on tasks and meets deadlines.
    • Work with supporting business services across campus to set up and execute a smooth running event from beginning to end.
  • Alumni Connections Development
    • Develop and expand current alumni contact and placement information, partnering with Truett & Baylor marketing to strengthen alumni connections through constant forms of communication.
  • Marketing, Networking and Residency (development)
    • Relate to alumni through special events, lectures, and other opportunities to improve relations with alumni in all industries.
    • Work to increase alumni scholarship, residency opportunities, as well as assist recruiting through alumni channels.
    • Actively develop and maintain relationships with organizations (on Baylor campus, denominational and affinity groups) providing ministerial opportunities for alumni.
    • Some travel is expected
  • Equip Alumni
    • Offer workshops, podcasts, and information sessions related to job search strategies for opportunities in and alongside the church
    • Recruit diverse experts to advise students for particular fields of service.
  • Ability to comply with University policies
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission
