In compliance with SB 1162, Western University of Health Sciences is providing a pay scale for this position. The pay scale reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within this range, the individual pay is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and work location. Please note that the compensation details listed reflects the base salary only.

Job Summary
Under the general direction of the Director Post Award Accounting and indirectly the Assistant Vice President of Sponsored Programs/Contract Management.
The Assistant Director Post Award Accounting is responsible for the financial management and post award administration of sponsored funds from federal, state, and local government sources, as well as nonprofit, private, foundation and corporate sponsors
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated expertise with GAAP fund accounting, 2CFR200 National Institute of Health, Department of Defense grant/contract regulations, National Science Foundation grant/contract regulations, HRSA Health Resources and Service Administration grant/contract regulations and state Agencies. Know how to interpret regulations within a grant/contract agreement. Certified Research Administration is a plus. Recent or current professional affiliations with NCURA and SRA.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in business administration, accounting, finance, public administration or relevant field that support the needed background for the position.
Preferred Qualifications
3 years experience in high volume grant/contracts post award accounting
Expertise with GAAP fund account and 2CFR200 across all federal agencies
Working knowledge of Office products such as Team, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Working knowledge of payroll as it relates to grant/contract compliance regulations
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
Strong analytical skills
